About Jack
They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now! Jack is a loving and playful 6-year-old hound mix, rescued from Texas, who is ready for a new chapter in a caring home. Even though he’s a big fellow at around 74 pounds, he hasn’t realized he’s too large to be a lapdog and will insist on cuddling and receiving all the head rubs and butt scratches you can offer. Having grown up with many dogs, Jack is most comfortable around female dogs and loves the company of cats, but he prefers his food bowls all to himself, so feeding him separately is important. He absolutely adores water—if there’s a puddle, Jack will be splashing in it with delight. Jack is house trained and generally calm, but he has bursts of energy that shine through, making him perfect for a moderately active household. While he’s affectionate and sweet, his size and personality mean that a home with children over 10 is ideal. Jack enjoys walks and exploring on leash—just be ready for a strong, enthusiastic companion! He can be a bit stubborn, voicing his opinion when he doesn’t want to do something, but with consistency and gentle corrections, he settles in just fine. Please note: Jack has not yet been altered. There is a required $150 spay/neuter deposit in addition to his adoption fee, which will be refunded after you complete a spay/neuter contract within 6 months. Give this gentle big boy the loving home he’s been waiting for. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
