About Delilah
Delilah came into the world around June 13, 2017, and her start in life was rough. Found as a tiny kitten with head trauma, she can’t blink her right eye the usual way and relies on her third eyelid for protection. She has a noticeable indentation on the top left of her skull, an unusual ear, and a scattering of scars on her head—evidence of a past that no one quite understands, but one in which she’s proven her resilience. After being adopted as a kitten, Delilah was returned to the rescue after seven years, along with several other cats from the household. Her prior home called her a "ghost cat," almost never seeing her—which mainly boiled down to Delilah never receiving the socialization or care she needed. Back at the rescue, the noise and bustle shook her up, causing a herpes flare and an infected eye ulcer in her already compromised eye. Treatment was slow and steady. The ulcer healed, adding a small scar to her collection, and she kept moving forward. Month by month, Delilah’s foster mom patiently rebuilt her sense of safety. At first, Delilah hid or swatted at any gentle approach. Over time, with treats and soft conversation, she began to show her trust. She’s got a soft spot for cat TV, plush toys (which she mothers lovingly), and nestling under blankets in a cozy fort. While she does well with friendly feline companions, she will need a calm, patient adopter dedicated to building a real friendship with her. In a quiet household with a nurturing feline friend and a human who respects her boundaries, Delilah blossoms—rubbing in for pets, purring, and even making the softest biscuits. With her gentle affection and talkative charm, Delilah has proven herself to be a loving, sensitive soul to those willing to earn her trust. Her ideal home has a tranquil environment, friendly cats (and possibly a gentle dog), and someone ready to give her the security and lifelong home she's always deserved. Start your journey together!
