About Yoda

They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now! Yoda is an 80-pound black shepherd mix whose sweetness and intelligence light up every room. At just two years old, Yoda is a quick learner currently excelling in obedience training and impressing all who meet him with his fetching skills and huge heart. Yoda’s favorite activities are football, chasing bees, curling up for couch snuggles, and following his humans from room to room. While he bonds wonderfully with people of all ages—including children—he would thrive as the only dog in the home, as he is reactive with other dogs in the environment and prefers being the center of attention. Patience and positive reinforcement will help him continue to succeed, and a securely fenced backyard would be ideal for his daily exercise and games. Yoda’s original foster family shares that he loves to play, knows basic commands like "sit" and "fetch," uses a doggie door, is not toy or food possessive, and can easily alternate between play sessions and relaxing downtime. He quietly settles in his kennel at night, rarely barks, and has had no bathroom accidents in the home. Yoda does need guidance to remember his size when playing with people, but he responds well to redirection and hand gestures. He is working on his leash manners, especially around other dogs and animals, but prefers the companionship of those he trusts most. In return, Yoda will shower his people with loyalty, quiet companionship, and heartfelt tail wags every morning. Your new best friend is just one click away.
