About Murphy
Murphy is a small, 11-year-old Rat Terrier who shows that life doesn’t slow down just because you’re a senior or face some physical challenges. With significant deformities in his back knees, Murphy can’t have corrective surgery—but he’s not the type to let that hold him back. He moves well, sometimes even breaking into a sprint across carpet or rugs, and would do best in a home that doesn’t have slippery floors. Joint supplements and pain medication are a must for him going forward. He meets new people with friendliness and grows deeply loyal to those he knows. Expect Murphy to greet you at the door, join you on the couch, and keep you company in the kitchen. He’s happiest around other small, older, calm dogs who respect his space and aren’t too energetic; more boisterous companions can overwhelm him. For safe exercise, a fenced yard is non-negotiable. House training is one of Murphy’s strong suits. He’s current on all vaccinations and preventatives, has come through dental care and weight loss, and continues to thrive. He wants an adult-only, quiet home within two hours of Pittsburgh, PA. Murphy is ready for a new chapter with someone who gets the rhythm of a gentle, loyal companion. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
