About Festus
Festus is an older Chihuahua mix who still finds plenty to appreciate—a sunny nap spot, the right company, a cozy bed. Weighing around 10 lbs, he's recently slimmed down, making him lighter on his paws. After a major dental procedure, Festus is happily back to eating crunchy kibble. He’s fully house trained and values personal space, making him a good fit for someone who respects his easygoing, independent spirit. Festus tends to take life at his own pace and chooses when—and by whom—he’s willing to be petted, often enjoying the gentle company of older children who understand boundaries. He isn’t a fan of being picked up and makes that clear in his own way. Deafness is another part of his character; he communicates better with gentle touch than words. This guy gets along with small dogs and is patient with guinea pigs, but prefers mild-mannered larger dogs and does not get along with cats. Festus's ideal adopter will offer him respect, patience, and a mostly quiet life. He’s a seasoned companion for someone who appreciates an independent soul and wants a mellow dog with a touch of quirkiness. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
