About Shadow Fax
Shadow Fax came to the rescue with her four kittens after her former guardians couldn't keep her safe from the dangers in their rural area. She arrived with a healed head injury and a leg bite, which seem to play a part in her strong reactions to fear. The world can still feel unpredictable to her—triggers like wildlife, loud noises, or barking dogs cause her to go into escape mode, sometimes damaging screens or blinds in her panic and even biting if someone tries to hold her back in these moments. Once she feels safe and knows her people, Shadow Fax can be quite affectionate. She'll nap on the bed, chortle when she's feeling social, enjoy finger pets, and flop around in a silly mood. She has steadily adjusted to home life, though she often keeps to the edges and can get startled at sudden movements. She loves the company of the male cat she lives with and is an impressive mouser. Because Shadow Fax will always be on the lookout for threats, she needs either a safe indoor-outdoor setup (like a catio, shop, or barn) or a home willing to give her plenty of time to adjust. She thrives with another cat or as part of a colony. Shadow Fax is spayed, vaccinated, and will be microchipped for her new family. If you can offer a patient, secure space for her, she's ready for her next chapter. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
