About Festus
Make their next chapter their best one yet. Meet Festus, a 1.5-year-old hound mix with a beautiful red-chestnut short coat and a truly gentle spirit. Weighing around 58 pounds, Festus may be young, but he already knows how to make friends and win hearts. He loves to play with other dogs and walks politely on a leash. Though he arrived as a stray with a couple of puncture wounds from a presumed dog attack, Festus has healed into a loving, gentle giant who adores companionship. Festus is fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on flea and tick prevention. He is also receiving his heartworm treatment, which will be fully covered if you adopt him—his last treatment is scheduled for January 2026. Festus hates to soil his kennel, so he should be easy to finish house training. As a hound, he is curious and would need a secure fence if adopted out in the country or on a farm; his instinct may encourage him to roam or hunt. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, and playful friend, Festus could be your perfect big boy. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
