About Oscar
Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started. Meet Oscar, a nearly three-year-old Schnoodle with a sweet nature and a playful spirit. He loves to invite the older dogs in his foster home to play, even if they aren't as interested as he is. Oscar is happiest with a playmate and absolutely needs a securely fenced yard to safely burn off his energy—he's very athletic and can jump and climb, so an appropriately high fence is required. After playtime, he's a cuddle champion and loves giving kisses to everyone in the family. Oscar is crate trained, house trained, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccines and heartworm meds. He walks and potties well on a leash but truly thrives when he has room to run. Oscar came from a difficult past, making him sometimes nervous at the vet and with grooming. While he doesn’t bite, he does get frightened and sometimes needs medication to help him through grooming or vet visits. He has tried multiple groomers but is most comfortable being sedated at the vet for full grooms. He can get carsick, so mobile grooming hasn’t worked for him. Oscar is very social with people and other dogs—he’s even been boarded several times and does very well. He's not been tested with cats, but might give chase simply out of curiosity. For families with children, he would do best with kids aged 10 and up since his enthusiasm could be a bit much for little ones. He’s not destructive indoors, doesn’t chew inappropriately, and loves his food and cookies. Toys aren’t his thing—he’s still learning what they are! Oscar would thrive with a dog buddy to help show him the ropes in his new home, as well as an active, patient adopter willing to invest in training and positive routines. A loving family who will let him nap on the couch and redirect his boundless energy would be perfect for him. He is currently loving snowy days in his Michigan foster home and can't wait for his forever family! Make their next chapter their best one yet.
