About Maury

Maury has been at the rescue longer than anyone expected, but he still greets each day with optimism. Animal Control found him wandering downtown, thin and alone, back in early 2021. Since then, he's rebuilt his health with the help of the team. Maury is 4 years old and brimming with energy—he wants to run, play fetch (he'll usually bring the ball back), and especially splash around in any water he finds. Hose, pond, pool, it doesn't matter; if it’s wet, Maury's happy. He’s a people-first kind of dog. He’s eager for affection and has started learning basic commands quickly. Maury missed out on early dog socialization, though. Around other dogs, his mixed signals make play awkward, and he will need to be the only animal in his new home. The good news is he loves older kids and would thrive as their adventure buddy. Daily yard time is never enough for him—he’s built for hikes, swimming, and curling up on a couch at night. If you’re active and want a loyal, fun companion who truly just needs a real chance, Maury is waiting to meet you. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
