About Donnie
Donnie came to Satchel's Last Resort with Marie after surviving severe neglect. On arrival, he was clearly underweight and suffering from both internal and external parasites as well as neglected skin. Despite all of that, Donnie's spirit remains incredibly warmโhis tail never stops wagging and he eagerly greets every person he meets, stranger or not, with gentle trust and happiness. He's described as pure goodness and has earned a reputation as an "angel" among volunteers for his resilience and his unfailing friendliness. Donnie loves other dogs and truly thrives with canine companions but would also do well as a cherished only dog. He approaches every soft bed, every kind touch, and every new friend with remarkable openness, even after all he endured. He recently completed treatment for heartworm and is currently being treated for an eye infection, which his caretakers are confident will heal. If youโre looking for a dog who knows how to find joy in life no matter his past, Donnie has immense affection to give. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
