About Rumba

Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now! Rumba is a charming young cat who found his way back to the rescue after nearly two years in an adoptive home. He’s looking for a loving family where he can be the center of attention, as he feels most comfortable in a home without dogs and young children. Rumba and his siblings—Mambo, Raggae, Ska, and Calypso—were originally discovered with their mother Merengue taking shelter under a porch until help arrived. Rumba will thrive in an indoor-only home, unless he is chosen for the barn cat program, which has specific requirements. Please note that adoptions are limited to within about a 45-minute drive of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and home visits are part of the process. Only in-state adoptions are considered. Visits to the Cedar Rapids adoption center are by appointment, and you can schedule to meet Rumba through their Facebook page or website. Born under the sign of Leo (his birthday is August 1), Rumba is likely to bring lots of sunny personality and playful warmth to his new home! Make their next chapter their best one yet.
