About Betty

Name: Betty Basics: Betty is housetrained, good with dogs, good with cats, good with kids. She will need a slow introduction with cats since she does want to chase and play with them and that may scare cats she's meeting. She is not crate trained, not leash trained (have tried to walk her a few times and she pulls a lot and seems to be scared of cars), knows "sit", responds when called. I found her on a friend's property that is adjacent to the woods, she came out of the woods extremely skinny and timid and had clearly given birth recently although no puppies could be found. Characteristics: She is very affectionate, loves to cuddle, and wants to be next to you when you're sitting around the house. She likes to run and is very eager to play with other dogs, loves chasing squirrels and lizards, she is very athletic and graceful, likes to explore and investigate the back yard even if she has seen it a thousand times. Not super big on tug of war but loves it when you hold a rawhide bone while she chews on it, She definitely has energy but if you're mellow she will be too, can entertain herself with a toy/bone when you're busy. Adjectives: Sweet, silly, playful, curious, loyal, animated She likes to be near her person as much as possible unless she's off in a corner with a bone. She likes to cuddle on the couch and will try to crawl onto the lap of anyone giving her attention. She is very playful, loves when you are showing her attention whether thats playing keep away with a stuffed animal or playing her like the bongos. Likes belly rubs, ear rubs, nose rubs. Very expressive face. Favorite qualities: She's very gentle, she learns quickly and pays close attention to your reactions, very sweet to see her smiling face and wagging tail in the morning when you wake up, she has a morning stretching routine that is very cute too. Very pretty, lovely white and black spotted coat. I think she may be a Staffordshire Terrier based on her spots and face shape. She has long legs and is very graceful when running and jumping, sometimes looks like she's prancing. Ideal home would be either a home where the owner has time to give her attention, perfect for someone who wants a buddy. I think once she is properly leash trained she would be great to go hiking with, she is great with car trips and loves being outside with her person. A home with another dog for her to play with would be great too and she is very gentle and comfortable with children. If you want a love bug and a great companion she would be a good choice! Medical Behavioral: Medical issues: none Behavioral issues: She is protective of her home, will growl or bark when new people come to the door. If you put her in a separate room while a new person enters the house and then bring her in once they are settled she does fine and warms up quickly. No biting or aggression problems.
