About Roxie
Roxie is a Domestic Shorthair tortoiseshell with a gentle spirit and a history as a loving mother. She thrives in the company of other cats, especially kittens, who help her feel safe and at ease. With people, Roxie is still learning how to build trust. She makes slow progress every day, and once she feels secure, she quietly approaches to show her sweet and gentle side. Her favorite pastime is slipping into cozy hiding spots where she can watch the world from a distance, drawing comfort from a little privacy. However, Roxie truly wants a life filled with soft pets, gentle cuddles, and a patient home willing to let her come out of her shell at her own pace. If you have a quiet and understanding home with space in your heart for second chances, Roxie may be the cat who fits right in. Visitors can meet her in her foster home in Chicago's southwest suburbs by appointment, following an approved application. Foster-to-adopt homes must be within 30 miles of Lemont and use one of the rescue's partnered vets. Adoptions are local-only until Roxie is fully vetted. They are waiting with paws crossed!
