About Hershey
Hershey, born in rescue in 2018, is a sharp, striking Pit Bull Terrier with a heart full of potential. Adopted twice as a puppy and returned each time, Hershey has spent much of his life searching for just the right fit. He’s housetrained, crate trained, and knows a stack of commands—sit, stay, come, paw, wait, lay down, leave it, drop it—making him well-mannered for someone who can hold that line. Chew toys are his favorite, and he soaks up affection from people he trusts. If there’s a car ride, Hershey’s in his element. Leash walks are a breeze once he gets out his initial excitement, but he is a dominant, smart dog who feels secure only with a clear leader. Without that, he gets anxious and reacts poorly. Hershey absolutely requires a committed, experienced adopter who will stick to his training and work with a trainer, which the rescue can recommend. For Hershey, peace comes with boundaries and consistency. He must be your only pet and cannot be in a home with children, cats, or other dogs. If you’re someone who understands strong, sensitive dogs and wants a loyal sidekick, Hershey is ready. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
