About Simba

Simba, nine years old and striking in his orange and white coat, is about 99% couch companion and 1% the cranky neighbor who wants all the peace and quiet to himself. He’s survived quite a journey, rescued from euthanasia with a long list: severe overweight, diabetes, matted fur, skin and nail infections, and neuropathy. With time, treatment, and plenty of brushes and belly rubs, Simba has made serious progress—his diabetes is now in remission, he’s off insulin, and he’s feeling more like himself. You’ll get a roaring purr and even happy drool with every bit of attention, and he actually loves belly rubs and nail trims—this guy might have been a pro for all we know. Simba is adorably wobbly on his feet (likely from his old diabetic neuropathy), but don’t worry, that never stops his little bursts of energy after the litter box. High places aren’t his style; if you want Simba to snuggle at your side at night, a set of pet stairs by the bed is all he needs. He’s strictly a solo act: Simba does not get along with other cats or dogs. His perfect setup is a calm, quiet home, ideally with someone home much of the day. Simba’s ongoing care is covered—food, litter, medical—so all that’s missing is your love and daily routine. Twice-daily meals and a soft spot to land, and Simba will give you everything he’s got.
