Bolt is a young male Rat Terrier with a small build, currently in Matthews, NC. He has special medical needs due to a pelvic injury affecting his ability to be house trained, and he is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. Despite his challenges, Bolt is full of determination, charm, and energy, and is looking for a supportive home willing to accommodate his care.

About Bolt

Bolt lives up to his name, racing around with boundless energy even as he manages an injured pelvis. Despite nerve damage that’s left him with limited control over his back end, Bolt is determined and quick, earning the respect (and a bit of confusion) from the bigger dogs in his foster home. He currently wears a diaper and his foster family, along with his vet, are working on medications to improve his condition. He’s a playful, loving pup and gets along with other dogs—though his speed often catches them off guard. He’s outgrown most typical puppy habits, though he’s still working to put on weight and could use a little extra care. Bolt is crate trained, smart, and eager to make his people happy. He loves people, cozy spaces, and is particularly fond of attention and affection. He’s a good fit for a home that can give him a bit of patience and extra support due to his medical needs, and he gets along well with other dogs, kids, and cats. No one is sure how Bolt got injured, but he hasn’t let it slow his spirit or affection. He’s ready for a family open to giving him the special care—and love—he deserves. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
