About Newt
Meet Newt, a young Husky/Dutch Shepherd mix born in March 2024, whose resilience sets her apart. She started life with advanced cataracts and very limited vision but, after eye surgery, now enjoys partial sight and is taking in the world with renewed enthusiasm. Newt may still be visually impaired, but that doesn’t slow her down—she’s spirited, gentle, and greets life with courageous energy. Newt thrives on affection and is happiest around both people and dogs, so having a fellow canine companion would give her comfort and confidence. A household that’s proactive about veterinary care is essential, as she’ll need ongoing check-ins with an ophthalmologist to keep her vision stable and general vet visits to maintain her health. Through curiosity, playfulness, and endless love, Newt doesn’t let her unique challenges get in the way of being a remarkable companion. She needs a home ready to support her, appreciate her story, and give her the structure and celebration she deserves. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
