Stewie
AvailableStewie is a male Pit Bull Terrier with a medium build who currently calls Pryor, OK home. He is an adult dog and has been neutered, is house trained, and has up-to-date vaccinations. Stewie's history shows he does best as the only animal in the home and will thrive with an understanding adopter.
About Stewie
Stewie has made a big transformation since arriving at the shelter in August. When he first showed up, he wanted nothing to do with anyone—he hid at the back of his kennel, ears pressed down, with his tail tucked tight. It took a lot of patient care to help him feel safe enough to step forward, and the difference now is remarkable. These days, when Stewie sees the people he knows, he greets them with cautious optimism—tail wagging, eager for attention, even reaching up for kisses on walks. His confidence is still new and fragile, but the sweetness underneath has started to shine. Loyalty runs deep with Stewie. He’s happiest being the only dog and would be overwhelmed by other pets or a home with young kids. He’s learning, one day at a time, that people can be trusted—so he’ll need an adopter willing to continue giving him extra patience and understanding. The team knows he’s special and will be careful to match him with the right home. If you can give Stewie the time and calm he needs, he’s ready to keep growing into an incredible companion. Questions about Stewie
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Pit Bull Terriers like Stewie typically do best in a stable, structured home with firm boundaries and regular routines. They appreciate a family that can provide consistent companionship and clear expectations.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Stewie would benefit from a securely fenced yard where he can burn off his energy, but daily walks and playtime are just as important for a Pit Bull Terrier's well-being.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Pit Bull Terriers can be very good with children when properly socialized, but Stewie would be best in a home without small kids due to his skittishness around sudden movements.
