About Ruby
Ruby came to the rescue after her previous owner, facing mobility challenges, could no longer care for her safely. At four years old, Ruby is a Boxer and Pit Bull mix on the larger side, and sometimes her exuberance was just too much for him to handle. Ruby has a sweet nature, but the change in her life has left her sad and a bit unsettled. She misses her former home, but she will adjust given some time and patience. Ruby can be wary around some men at first, yet she opens up quickly once she knows you are kind. At the shelter, she enjoys the company of other dogs; a meet and greet with any resident pets is recommended to make sure everyone gets along. Ruby also lived with cats before, so she’s used to sharing her space. She is spayed and her vaccinations are current. As a Leo, Ruby has a loyal spirit and a warm heart, ready to find her next family in Harrisville, WV. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!

Questions about Ruby
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
A Boxer and Pit Bull mix like Ruby does well in a stable home environment with space to stretch out, ideally with access to a yard or regular opportunities for exercise. She'll thrive where she can be an active member of the family.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Ruby will appreciate a fenced yard or regular outdoor walks. Large breeds like hers need room to move and enjoy a bit more space than small-breed dogs.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Boxer and Pit Bull mixes such as Ruby are often quite good with children, especially if well-socialized early. Their size and energy should be considered with young kids.
