About Ella

Ella is a striking mix of German Shepherd and Border Collie, about 3.5 years old and weighing in around 60 lbs. She’s smart, quick to pick up commands, and wants nothing more than to work with her person. Ella brings a lot of energy to the table—think lots of walks, games, training or even ranch life. She’s ideal for an adopter who is prepared to give her both mental and physical work, whether it’s agility, scent work, or plenty of obedience and play. When she’s had her fill of activity, Ella is content and calm around the house. She’s crate trained, housetrained with a doggie door, and excellent on leash. Ella already knows her basic commands and has solid manners, waiting patiently for her food until released. Socially, Ella enjoys playing with other dogs but her style is pretty rough and includes classic herding behaviors—stalking and nipping at limbs—so she’ll need canine pals that aren’t easily overwhelmed. Ella cannot live with cats, as she chases and is highly curious about them. She does better meeting women and tends to be a bit shy around men and new people. She hasn’t lived with young kids, so homes with children 8+ are preferred. Her adoption includes spay, full vetting, and all her care up to date. Click apply to start the adoption process.
