MEET MIA Hi my name is MIA! I am a 2 yr old terrier mix, spayed female, approximately 30 lbs. I was scared and out running on the streets of Oakley when I saw a nice lady with a dog and I got up the courage to stop and say hi. They brought me to the shelter in case my owners were looking for me, but no one came for me. I stayed at the shelter for almost a month and was so scared that I found myself on the euthanasia list. It took a lot of treats and a little time before my new friends were able to pet me. Luckily, they got me out of the shelter with no time to spare! Once I got settled into my foster home, I found confidence from the other dogs there and started my healing journey. I may take a little time to warm up and trust my new human(s) but once I do, I bond deeply to my people. I love women and children, but if there is a man in the home he needs to be patient with me. I am not mean, just scared. I am pure sweetness. I am house trained, working on my leash skills to build confidence, and wonderful with children over 8. I live with cats but would rather not have any in my forever home. My favorite place is on your lap or in my fluffy dog bed with a chew toy. Chasing the water from the hose is one of my favorite games… especially on hot days, it’s fun to get wet! I have come such a long way and look forward to finding my forever family. I really enjoy the company of other dogs and prefer gentle, calm dogs that are confident. I am crate trained but also will sleep quietly on a dog bed in your room. My adoption fee is $300 which includes current health examination, current vaccinations, spay, microchip, flea and deworming treatment, along with any other medical or dental, deemed necessary by our veterinarian
