Looking for a project? This is your chance to make a difference! I’m Priya—a 3.5 year old, 46 pound Pit Bull Terrier mix whose heart is bigger than my fears, even if I’m still learning to believe it. I’m housebroken, working on crate and leash training, and I get along well with other dogs and older kids. But cats or small animals....Absolutely not—I have a very high prey drive, so a cat-free home is a must. I am terrified of anything new. Not aggressive—just scared, and my instinct is always to run if something feels out of routine. That’s why I need someone incredibly patient, gentle, and committed. I’m a true “project dog,” the kind who will break your heart and heal it at the same time. In the last three months, I’ve made amazing progress, and my rescuers say you can actually see my bravery growing. Sometimes my fear shows all over my body, and then I’ll take a deep breath, take a chance, and suddenly I’m full of joy… until the next time we start the dance again. But every step forward matters. I take my cues from other dogs, so having a calm, confident pup in my forever home would help me more than words can say. In fact, I LOVE Mushu—if we could go together, that would be a dream come true. I’m also full of little quirks that make my humans melt: I sleep with my tongue out when I’m super relaxed, I snuggle as close as possible at night, and I’m basically cat-like when it comes to being petted—quiet, tentative, but secretly craving affection. I can run like a racehorse with pure joy on my face, I’m an expert at fetch, and squeaky toys. Give me a cheap stuffed toy to tear open and it’s basically Christmas morning. I’m a flight risk and a fragile soul, but I’m also a dog who wants—with my whole being—to trust, to love, and to finally feel safe.
