Love is something I’m still learning about, but it’s already growing inside my heart every day. I’m Nyeli, and I’m 2 years old and about 39 pounds. I’m working really hard on my house training and leash training but I have crate training down! I don’t know any commands yet, but I’m trying my best to be brave and to trust. New people make me very scared at first, and I need a little extra time to feel safe, but once I do, my love starts to shine through. Inside the house, I’m calm and quiet. I love gentle playtime with my person or with another dog. I get along well with dogs, cats, and older kids. I like going on regular walks, but my favorite thing in the whole world is to run as fast as I can. Running makes me feel free and happy, so I really need a private, fenced yard where I can stretch my legs a few times a week. When I first came to Rescue One, I was very shut down and didn’t understand that people could be kind. Now I’m learning that love can be soft, patient, and safe. I’m still working on my confidence around people, and I need a family who understands that I might need more time than most to feel at home. My dream home is quiet and peaceful, with people who will show me how gentle and patient love can be. I’d like a safe place, like a cozy kennel or quiet bedroom, where I can go when visitors come over. I would be so happy with a big fenced yard and at least one playful dog to run with. I’d be even happier with a whole pack of playful siblings to share my love and joy with. My adoption fee is $150 and includes my spay/neuter, vaccinations, wellness exam, heartworm test, and microchip!
