About Henry
Henry is a 6-month-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who’s working on finding his footing in the world after coming from a commercial breeding facility, where he missed out on the comforts of a typical home. He’s timid and easily startled, but if given the safety and patience he deserves, he’ll seek out connection and closeness with his adopters. Don’t expect him to become a social butterfly overnight; Henry will likely always be somewhat shy. He needs a family willing to let him decompress at his own pace, without pressure or expectations to change. Structure, gentleness, and consistency will help him thrive. Henry isn’t house trained and doesn’t know how to walk on a leash yet. He must have a fenced yard for safe potty breaks. He’s most comfortable when there’s another calm, confident dog around—someone he can look up to and model good behavior from. Cavaliers are notorious for latching onto their humans, and with time, Henry’s likely to become a loyal shadow at your heels. Adopters need a flexible schedule, since young puppies like Henry need plenty of bathroom breaks, socialization, and ongoing training. He’s dog-friendly and gentle with children. Henry is already neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. The adoption fee is $1200. The rescue adopts locally in the Chicago metro area only and requires a home visit. If you’re looking for a companion who needs a gentle hand and a patient heart, Henry is on the hunt for a truly committed home. Start your journey together! Apply now.
