Daffodil
AvailableDaffodil is a 2-year-old spayed female Rottweiler/American Staffordshire Terrier mix in Tampa, FL. She’s large—over 80 lbs—house trained, and leash trained. She has been vaccinated and is missing one eye, a trait she was born with. Daffodil is currently in the early stages of kidney failure and requires daily medication and prescription food, making her a special-needs dog. Her resilient spirit shines through despite her medical challenges.
About Daffodil
Daffodil is more than just a rescue—she’s a survivor who’s been fighting since day one. Bottle-fed as a newborn, she overcame the odds, survived a blood transfusion, and grew into a strikingly strong, loyal companion. After a brief adoption and a tough return with medical and emotional setbacks, Daffodil has been rebuilt through structure, boundaries, and professional training. She’s not aggressive—just misunderstood and cautious around new people and situations, particularly where food is involved. Missing one eye since birth, Daffodil is fully house, crate, and leash trained, and she shows clear signs of devotion to people she trusts. Because she’s in early kidney failure, she’s on daily medication and prescription food. Her best future lies in a pet-free, child-free (or possibly teens with dog experience) home with a confident adult ready for daily exercise and maintaining boundaries. She does fine in dog playgroups but needs a steady environment and someone who sees her genuine, affectionate side past her tough history. Fostering or adopting will change her world for the better.
