About Koopa Troopa
Koopa Troopa is a spayed female Siberian Husky in Sanford, NC with a striking red and white coat and soulful eyes. She was rescued in 2023 after surviving an abusive past, but that hasn’t dulled her affection or love for adventure. Koopa is happiest when she’s exploring the outdoors—especially if there's water or even a muddy puddle involved. Ice, sprinklers, or a kiddie pool will all win her over. Don’t be surprised if she decides a rainstorm is cause for celebration. Despite her playful spirit, she has a deeply snuggly side and isn’t above lazing about in bed—her favorite movie is Moana, and she may be the cuddliest husky you’ll ever meet. Koopa adores belly rubs, tough chew toys, and thrives when she’s mentally and physically engaged. She excels in training and loves a challenge—a job, agility activities, or advanced commands are right up her alley. Social by nature, she does well meeting new people in public and is a popular face at local events. At home, she’s more selective about other dogs. She gets along with cats when introduced properly and does well with children, but cannot live with small animals due to her prey drive. Koopa has some quirks that call for an experienced or dedicated owner. She has PICA, a condition where she tries to eat non-food items, especially fabric, so she cannot be left unsupervised outside her crate and needs strict management with her environment. Her previous injuries mean she is sensitive on her neck and hips, requiring understanding and gentle handling. Her crate must stay bare except for safe, approved items to prevent further foreign body incidents. She enjoys a diet for sensitive skin and joints and continues to need supplements. Koopa Troopa deserves someone active and knowledgeable about working breeds, who can provide both structure and affection. She’s a resilient and loving husky who is ready for a safe home full of adventure, new memories, and people who appreciate her strong-willed heart. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
