About Pookie
Click apply to start the adoption process. Meet Pookie, a sweet and shy black and white kitty who has come a long way. Pookie is one of forty cats rescued from a local hoarding situation where she spent her time in a basement with little social interaction and limited light. Because of this, she can be scared and easily startled, as she's not yet familiar with the joys of human attention or the simple pleasure of looking out a window or playing with toys. Pookie has since formed a close bond with her friend Willy. Though their lives began in separate parts of the house, they've found comfort in one another and will need to go to their forever home together. You'll usually find them snuggled up or gently showing each other affection. Their ideal family will provide a quiet, patient environment where these two can blossom and discover what a loving home feels like. Pookie is FIV positive, meaning her immune system is a bit compromised, but she can still live a normal, healthy life as long as she's cared for properly. FIV isn't contagious to humans and is only passed to other cats through deep bite wounds. With a little nurturing and lots of love, Pookie and Willy can have the future theyβve always deserved. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
