About Avery
Avery is a large adult cat who connects best with people down at his level. If you’re sitting on the floor or just taking things slow, he’ll come around for company. Quick movements or standing over him can make him bolt, but give him a calm approach and he’s all in for belly and armpit rubs—even if his meow is silent, he finds other ways to tell you when he wants attention. Gentle scratches along his back trigger his signature pink tongue grooming move, sometimes on your arm, sometimes in the air. Avery’s driven by food, so if there’s another cat around that prefers to graze, their bowl needs to be out of his sight unless you want it emptied. He shows non-aggressive manners around other cats—his 10-year-old former roommate was happy to share a windowsill view and some space. He’s just beginning to show a playful side and loves batting at toys dragged along the ground. Litter box habits are solid and he never turns down Churu treats or a friendly greeting. For Avery to relax fully, he needs a patient, calm adopter who will let him settle in on his own clock. Think you might be the one he’s been waiting for? What are you waiting for? Apply today!
