About Porter
Porter is a character with a long history. Before being rescued, he spent months living in fear, covering 30 miles alone while trying to stay safe. Rescuers tracked him across the city until he finally settled in Anthem, relying on the kindness of a homeowner who left food and water for him under the carport. With time running out, a large drop net finally brought Porter to safety, marking a whole new chapter in his life. He's still guarded around new people, which fits his background, but there's no missing the playful, goofy dog underneath. Porter has gained confidence since rescue. He enjoys dogs who are respectful and social, and his trainer notes that he carries a sense of independence—those street smarts kept him alive. Give him a little patience and a calm routine, and Porter starts to relax. Expect a playful buddy who loves fun and a good chest rub on the couch after a romp. Porter will do best with a dog-savvy foster or adopter who is patient and calm at home. He’s about 5 years old and weighs roughly 50 pounds. Porter has gone from a survivor to a couch potato in the best way, ready to leave his hard times behind. Click apply to start the adoption process.
