About Melvin

Melvin is the kind of cat who wants you close, but not too close—a part-time lover who’ll lounge in the same room, keeping his own space. He’s endlessly curious, always poking into the corners of your home and observing everything like a little detective. You’ll notice him watching you from a distance, sizing you up and slowly letting down his guard one slow blink at a time. His start in West Philly was rough, but he made it out with his pal Sweetie and now he’s looking for a quieter life. Melvin adores other cats, making him a fantastic companion for Sweetie or any resident feline—he truly shines in feline company. People, he keeps at arm’s length for now, but with steady patience he’ll warm up. Give him a catnip toy or a comfy perch and he’s the definition of relaxed. His kidney condition is managed with a special diet and regular vet visits, so he’ll need someone who can keep up with that routine. House trained, neutered, vaccinated, and always polite, Melvin’s a gentle, playful, and independent soul. If you want a cat who’s content to observe and take his time, Melvin’s your guy.
