He was swept off the street in the nick of time with his buddy Sweetie (also up for adoption). Melvin is a great house guest but is still a bit weary of humans ~ he LOVES cats on the other hand and would be a great kitty companion, to his BFF Sweetie or any other cat! He has early onset kidney disease which just means that he needs a special diet and routine vet visits. He is slowly learning to trust humans but he prefers to watch from a distant, be in the same room with you, and send you sweet slow blinks while he rolls around with his favorite catnip toes or stares lovingly at his feline friends. He has great social skills and is so great with other kitties! Melvin is curious, gentle, independent, playful, and quiet. Melvin is around 6 years old and is neutered, FeLV and FIV negative, current on shots, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and litter box trained.
