About Orc
Orc has a real survivor's spirit. Written off as a hospice case in Atlanta, and once at risk, he’s put all that behind him. Now in Louisville, he's looking for a peaceful place to enjoy his golden years, as long as it doesn’t come with cats. Over the past two years, Orc’s resilience has shown – he’s finally heartworm-free and has filled out to a healthy weight. Food, treats, and attention are his simple pleasures, and he has the appetite to prove it: he’ll happily put away 6-8 cups of kibble a day. He’s not about marathons or high-energy antics, though. If you prefer a companion who’s content to lounge and soak up the calm, Orc fits the bill. Gather some snacks and a pile of chew toys, and he’ll be right at home. Orc gets along well with other dogs but needs a kitty-free household. Potential adopters must live in Louisville, KY or nearby counties. Ready to make Orc’s retirement sweet? Questions about Orc
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Boxer mixes like Orc generally do best in a steady, comfortable home with space to relax. At Orc's age, a quieter environment without much commotion is ideal for his senior needs.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Large Boxer/mixed breed dogs enjoy access to a yard or outdoor space, but Orc is past his running days and prefers lounging. Light walks and time outside to sniff around is more than enough for him.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Boxer mixes are often friendly and patient with kids, especially when raised with them. Orc would likely appreciate a calm household given his age, so older or considerate children would suit him best.
