About Sassy

Start your journey together! Apply now. Sassy is a 3 year and 6 month old American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull Terrier mix who has been patiently waiting at the Polk County Bully Project since January 2021, making her their longest resident. Originally brought to the rescue along with her seven puppies when her previous owner was unable to care for them, Sassy watched all her babies find loving homes and is now ready for her own forever family. This devoted "Velcrodog" thrives on pleasing her people and loves nothing more than cuddling and playing ball outdoors. She’s food motivated, eager to learn, and always ready to please. Sassy does well with other dogs—with proper introductions—and walks beautifully on a leash. While she prefers the company of women, she may also bond with bearded men, and will appreciate a patient, understanding family who can help her feel comfortable meeting new men. Due to food guarding behaviors, she should be fed separately from other dogs. After a rough start in life, Sassy is bursting with potential and offers unconditional love in return for patience and understanding. She just needs a special someone to help her shine. Fun fact: Since her birthday is February 26, Sassy is a Pisces—a sign known for deep loyalty and empathy! Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
