Meet Sassy, a 7-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier and Pit Bull Terrier mix, weighing in at about 53 pounds. She's traveled a tough road—she came into care on January 5, 2021, with her seven puppies when her previous owner could no longer look after the family. All her pups have moved on to new homes, and now Sassy is still waiting for her own forever family as the longest resident at the Bully Project. Sassy is a classic Velcro dog: she wants to be right by your side and soaks up any attention she can get. She thrives on positive interaction, food rewards, and a good game of fetch. Once properly introduced, she can get along well with other dogs and loves a good play session. Because she sometimes resource guards her food, she needs to be fed separately from other pets. Sassy prefers female humans, but with patience she will often warm up to gentle, bearded men too, so a family willing to take introductions slow would be ideal. She's house trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and despite her past challenges, Sassy is deeply loyal and affectionate.
