Rhett is a young, neutered male Yorkshire Terrier mix in Anna, IL, with a small build and a curly coat. He’s just shy of four years old and up to date on all his vaccinations. Rhett has overcome a lot, including a hoarding environment and heartworms, but he’s making remarkable progress. He gets along well with dogs and is already neutered, making him ready for a second chance at a happy life.

About Rhett

Rhett survived a hoarding crisis and arrived at PAWS on June 14 with matted fur, fleas, overgrown nails, and severe hunger. The neglect was obvious, but he bounced back quickly and found ways to show he hadn't lost his joy for life. Rhett is neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated for Parvo/Distemper and Rabies. He tested positive for heartworms, but his treatment plan is underway and he’ll be ready for a new home after November 1, 2025. Even after all he’s been through, this small, curly-coated boy is openly affectionate and clearly ready for a family to call his own. Rhett gets along well with other dogs and has shown that, with patience, his resilient spirit leads the way. He deserves a fresh start, surrounded by love and care. Adoption fee is $300.
