About Lamar
Lamar is a striking 2.5-year-old Plott Hound/Lab mix, currently in Washington, PA, who weighs in around medium size and carries a gentle soul. Found as a stray in St. Thomas back in early 2022, Lamar had a rough start—months in a shelter left him withdrawn and hesitant to trust. Thanks to a dedicated volunteer, he found a foster home and a second chance before making his way to rescue with Pet Search. With other dogs, Lamar opens up: he plays enthusiastically, often to the point of tiring himself out, and would do best with dog siblings to help boost his confidence. Cats don’t bother him at all, and he would do well as a companion for older children, considering his strength and size. New people and surroundings make him nervous at first—Lamar will bark anxiously and hang back, but given several weeks in a patient foster home, he’s shown steady progress with building trust. He still has accidents when anxious but is both crate trained and a big fan of snoozing on soft beds and sofas. Lamar is already neutered and up to date on vaccines. Born August 25th, he’s a practical Virgo—naturally observant and a bit cautious, but loyal once he gets to know you. Ready to help Lamar write his next chapter?
