About Monica

Monica’s story starts with heartbreak. Left behind at just a few months old, she was abandoned and forced to survive on her own. She found makeshift shelter beneath a warehouse loading dock, scared and hungry but determined to care for herself. At just 5 or 6 months, Monica became pregnant before she was even spayed—her former owners didn’t bother to care for her needs. Alone, she gave birth to six kittens in a bed of discarded newspapers, coping with the noise and chaos of passing trucks. When the workers became aware of Monica, she was so frightened she bolted, leaving her newborns behind. Thankfully, PetPromise stepped in. They reunited Monica with her babies and showed her compassion she hadn’t known. Monica immediately revealed her sweet nature—she stands on her hind legs for pets, rubs against people gratefully, always gentle and quiet. Though still a bit shy and nervous about being held, Monica loves to be petted and will follow you around, quietly hoping for gentle affection. She’s petite, barely larger than a young kitten, with striking black short fur and that ā€œforever kittenā€ look. Monica gets along well with other cats and will do best in a calm, patient home ready to show her what safety feels like. Her Libra sun sign hints at her gentle, loving spirit and desire for harmony.
