About Mateo

Click apply to start the adoption process. Mateo has been waiting patiently for nearly a year in hopes of finding a loving family to call his own. Though he is a bit on the shy side and has a fear of carriers, Mateo’s reserved nature makes it challenging for him to venture out and meet new people. He tends to keep to himself around strangers—sometimes hiding, sometimes sitting perfectly still and quietly observing from a distance. However, once trust is built, Mateo shows his affectionate side, becoming quite the little lovebug. He relishes gentle scratches behind his ears and down his back, choosing to sit contentedly by your side rather than on your lap, always eager to keep you company. Mateo’s playful side comes out with a jingle ball or catnip mouse; he’ll happily chase toys across the house, transformed into a spirited kitten. With patience and understanding, Mateo is sure to become a cherished member of your home. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
