About Harriet

Harriet is part of an inseparable pair with Ozzie, both found abandoned at the gates of the sanctuary. At about 5 years old, these large Doberman/German Shepherd mixes have grown dependent on each other, and must go to a home together. Harriet is quiet, sharp, and deeply affectionate—she’s also smart as a whip, with perfect off-leash recall, and has all the basics down: sit, lay, shake. Both dogs are house trained, comfortable in a kennel, and terrific on a leash. They lean toward being low energy indoors, but when the mood strikes, they love to romp around the backyard, then happily crash on the nearest couch or cuddle up with you. Harriet has had at least one litter of puppies, but those days are behind her. Both Harriet and Ozzie are fully vetted and ready for their forever home. They do well with other dogs and are gentle with kids, although they have a strong prey drive around cats and would not be a match for a feline household. Harriet’s looking for a family ready to give a big, goofy duo the soft landing they need. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
