Our Julio isnāt much of a troublemaker himself, but heād love to pal around with you and be your sidekick! Julio spent two months in one foster home- hereās what his foster had to say: āJulio is still a puppy with lots of energy. He loves his person and always wanted to sleep beside me every night. He absolutely loves people.ā In another foster home, we learned even more about this very good boy: - He did well with kids aged 11 to 17 - He was tolerant and playful with a small dog - He is crate trained - He is house trained with a regular potty schedule - He is a power chew and loves strong chew toys, tug oā war, and loves to shred his stuffies - He is affectionate, friendly, and loves to give kisses āJulio is an amazing dog and truly deserves a family that is active and will be able to give him mental and physical stimulation. He is high energy especially in the evenings.ā Julio does well in the car and likes to play in the water- a true adventure pup! Hereās what some of his friends at the shelter have said: āI LOVE Julio. Heās a bouncy boy but is great on walks and is very sweet and affectionate. He has a playful side but settles quickly and is very sweet and eager to please his people. Overall, heās a sweet guy who likes people!ā āToday Julio played in the kiddie pool for a while, where he was happy to sit for treats and bob for wet milk bones. We went for a short walk where he was a loose leash walker and a very good boy. Interested parties: Must visit PACC before the 3:00PM SUNDAY OCTOBER 12TH deadline to meet with a counselor who will review notes and introduce you to the dog to ensure that itās a good fit. Some dogs may also require an introduction to any dogs they may potentially live with. Home Management Plan 1) Bite History ⢠Minor bite - stray chasing and grabbed a chicken, victim tried to pull the chicken away from the dog, as the dog regripped the chicken he bite the victim. 2) Prey Drive- no chickens ⢠Watch for interactions with small animals like dogs and cats ⢠May chase or pull towards small animals. May need a strong handler when out on walks. ⢠This can be instinctual behavior, breed related behavior or learned behavior. ⢠Work with a trainer for behavior modification. 3) Dog Selective- seen in the shelter with male dogs ⢠Your new dog likes some dogs but may not like all dogs. ⢠Muzzle training can be a useful tool for initial introductions to any new dogs. ⢠They can not go to dog parks. ⢠Julio must meet all dogs in the home prior to adoption. 4) DOG INTRO RECOMMENDED due to previously being stiff and uncomfortable with male dogs, no issues seen in mostly female playgroup. 5) On Prozac ⢠Do NOT stop medication without consulting your personal vet. ⢠MUST be tapered - stopping abruptly may have negative effects.
