About Dean

Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started. Introducing Dean, a striking tricolor mixed-breed pup with border collie heritage. At just 8 months old, Dean is a young dog who is eager for a fresh start and the support of an adopter ready to invest in his bright future. Dean’s journey has not been easy; he and his littermates landed at the shelter after an incident where they exited an open gate and bit a passerby, highlighting his need for a very special adopter. Dean requires a patient, experienced home dedicated to positive reinforcement training and slow, steady socialization. Dean is not yet leash trained and can be nervous when handled too quickly, sometimes responding by flailing or leash-biting. He would truly benefit from a resident dog who can act as a mentor, helping him adjust and become more confident in a home environment. Immediate affection may not come naturally for Dean, but with time, diligence, and lots of patience, he has the potential to blossom into a wonderful companion. An adopter or long-term foster must visit the shelter in person for a counselor meet-and-greet, and Dean is required to go home with a martingale collar and flat clip leash. He cannot be adopted home with his littermate Max. If you are ready to shape the future of a promising young dog, Dean is waiting to meet you at Pima Animal Care Center. Give them the home they have been waiting for. Apply today.
