About Honey
Honey is an 8-year-old Cattle Dog/Heeler mix in Chattanooga, TN, who has experienced quite a journey since first being adopted in 2020. After her original owner passed away, Honey was passed from home to home before returning to safety at the rescue. Despite her early years of upheaval, Honey's outlook is bright: she thrives on fetch, walks, and hikes, and adores anything with a squeak—especially her watermelon toy. She’ll keep herself entertained, loves showing off her recall, and shines when it comes to leash manners. Rub her just right, and she’ll practically purr, clearly loving time with her people. While Honey likes to be the top dog and can be selective about her canine friends, she manages well with certain dogs—currently, she’s living harmoniously with four other females in the "office dog" crew. She’s also friendly with children and shows herself to be an excellent public ambassador on outings to Petco and even her local TV debut. Honey deals with some arthritis, particularly in her hips, but responds well to daily joint supplements and pain management, and she’ll let you know when she needs to take it easy. For the most part, her energy and enthusiasm for walks haven't faded. You’ll be getting a dog with a laid-back attitude at home and a lot of playfulness when it matters. Ready for her next chapter, Honey is hoping to spend her best years with someone who appreciates her devotion and character. Start your journey together! Apply now.
