About Turkey
Turkey is a resilient tripod with a story to tell. When he first arrived at rescue last fall, his leg and hip were badly healed from an old break, leaving him in pain and unable to use the limb. After one surgery didn't work, the switch to amputation changed everything—Turkey strolled away from the vet and hasn't let his missing leg slow him down. He runs, plays, and enjoys life without pain now. Outdoors, Turkey is in his element. He’s content sunbathing or lounging under the trees, on the lookout for bugs and frogs, always keeping humans within sight. Turkey rides well in the car and is known to be a first-class cuddler. He’s been waiting in rescue for almost a year, ready now to find a home with someone who can appreciate his tenacity and affectionate nature. Importantly, Turkey has a prey drive and will chase cats and wildlife from yards, so a home without cats is a must. Give this special dog a real shot at his forever home.
