About Layla
Layla is a well-rounded dog with a lot of love and personality. She’s friendly, loyal, and gentle, and she’ll keep you company with her playful spirit one moment and her quiet side the next. This girl is both athletic and perfectly content to snooze on the couch (sometimes with a fun little snore or whimper in her sleep). Layla has a protective streak toward her circle but is quick to warm up to new friends if given the space. If you’re willing to give belly rubs and the occasional royal treatment—she adores being called Princess Layla—you’ll win her heart in no time. Around her foster family, she’s affectionate and funny, gives kisses freely, and loves to hang out with fellow dogs, especially her buddy Chance. Having spent some tough months as a stray, Layla can be slow to trust, but patience goes a long way. She is used to a mix of indoor lounging and brief, quiet time outdoors. Because she’s currently undergoing heartworm treatment, she needs to limit time outside and stick to gentle activity—pee pad training is working for her when walks must be skipped. Layla has done well with children and dogs and deserves a family who’ll give her a safe, consistent environment. She’s crate trained for nighttime but does fine on furniture too. If you’re looking for a loving, silly, gentle companion who would thrive with a dog sibling and a secure backyard, Layla is ready to bring her loyal spirit home.
