About Lorna
Lorna has been with us since June 2025 and is a young, energetic dog who never learned appropriate ways to interact with people. She means well, but she uses her mouth inappropriately, climbs leashes, and can be difficult to walk. Her high energy, lack of impulse control, and emerging resource guarding have made her a challenge in a previous home. Lorna does have a bite/incident report on file. This means she has either bitten and/or scratched a person. Anyone interacting with her, adopting, or fostering her must be aware of this history. The Challenges (Honest Truth): -Uses her mouth inappropriately, especially when excited. -Exhibits resource guarding, especially around high-value items. -Climbs leashes and is very difficult to walk when overly stimulated. -Has a bite/incident report on file. -Too energetic and rough for homes with children. -Needs significant training around manners, handling, and impulse control. Why She's Worth It: -Underneath the chaos, she is fun, playful, and genuinely wants to connect. -Shows an affectionate, goofy, "best friend energy" once she bonds with someone. -Young, resilient, and capable of learning with structure and consistent training. -Thrives with enrichment, activity, and outlets that channel her high energy in healthy ways. Lorna isn't the right dog for every home - and that's okay. She needs an experienced person who can safely handle a mouthy dog with some resource guarding behaviors. With the right structure and guidance, she has the potential to grow into a wonderful, loyal companion. If you think you might be that person - or know someone who is - don't wait. Lorna is ready for a chance with someone who can help her become her best self.
