About Toro

Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now! Toro is a charming 3-year-old, 13 pound Terrier mix searching for a loving forever home. After finding himself overwhelmed in a busy home with four children, Toro is hoping to find a calm, patient family who understands his need for a quieter environment without children. He is crate trained and making progress with house training, mainly marking territory, but consistency has been helping him improve. Toro enjoys leash walks, car rides, and playing with toys, especially balls and anything rubber. He gets along well with other dogs his size, but would do best in a home with a securely fenced yard since he can be wary of strangers putting on a harness or leash. Working with a trainer is encouraged, as it will help build his confidence and teach him to be more comfortable with new things. Toro loves to be near his people and is happiest cuddling on the couch or relaxing in your lap, but he does need time and space to build trust with new faces. Making sure doors are secured will also help keep him safe as he continues to learn about thresholds. If you’re ready to offer patience, space, and lots of snuggles, Toro could be your new loyal companion. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
