About Kirby
They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now! Choosing the right pet is truly a leap of faith, just like the saying from a church sign: “No bungee cords – we encourage leaps of faith!” Meet Kirby—a sweet, gentle boy whose name has roots in Norse meaning 'church' and 'village.' While some may believe that black cats are unlucky, Kirby hopes you'll see past superstition, because he's a loving companion once he gets to know you. Kirby arrived at the shelter when his previous person moved and couldn't bring him along. He enjoyed cuddling up and sleeping with his person, as well as spending time with the children in his previous home. Here at Paws and Claws Humane Society, Kirby has discovered the joys of canned food and gets in some playful exercise with toys, keeping himself happy and fit. Kirby would thrive in a kind, loving home, ideally with adults or older children, since his behavior can be unpredictable if startled. He's searching for someone willing to take that leap of faith with him and give him the loving family he deserves. Because he has special needs, a thoughtful adopter is important. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
