About Travis

What are you waiting for? Apply today! Say hello to Travis, the sweet and loyal Golden Retriever mix ready to find his forever family in Broward County, FL. Travis is an 8-year-old, medium-sized pup with a golden heart, looking for an adopter experienced with Golden Retrievers. Despite coming from a tough background, including time in a hoarding situation, Travis adores cuddles and thrives on affection—he’ll greet everyone he meets with love and gentle kisses. Travis is an easygoing companion with medium energy—he enjoys playtime with squeaky toys and balls but also loves to wind down and relax with his human. He's currently living peacefully with a cat in his foster home and is generally non-reactive to other dogs during walks or vet visits. However, Travis prefers either to be the only dog or to live with a very calm, well-matched companion due to past stress-related incidents. One important thing to know is that Travis cannot tolerate crates due to past trauma and struggles with separation anxiety, making a work-from-home or retired family best for him. He is not yet fully house trained, so patience and understanding will go a long way in helping him adjust. Travis occasionally has mild kennel cough, especially in the mornings or when under stress, but he's otherwise in good health and up to date on medical care. Please note, Travis’s adoption is limited to Florida residents and only applicants familiar with the breed will be considered. The rescue prioritizes finding the perfect match, so submitting an application does not guarantee adoption. All applicants must provide a copy of their driver’s license and home photos as part of the screening process. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
