Travis is a gentle, affectionate Golden Retriever mix in Miami, FL who makes up for lost time with lots of cuddling and a loyal heart. At 8 years old and about 42lbs, he has come through a rough past but still greets the world with trust and hope. Travis thrives on kisses and attentionāhe expects affection from everyone he meets and settles in just as happily for a nap as he does a squeaky toy or treat. Heās medium energy, mostly calm indoors, and fully potty trained. You wonāt hear much barking from him, and he enjoys the simple things: food, gentle play, and basking in the company of people he trusts. Travis currently lives with a cat and gets along well. He needs to be the only dog or paired with a mellow, well-matched canine companionāpast trauma means he canāt handle crates and has occasionally had stress incidents with other dogs. This dog requires an experienced adopter with knowledge of Golden Retrievers, ideally someone who works from home or is retired, since Travis has separation anxiety and depends on close companionship. Kennel cough lingers in the mornings or under stress, but otherwise, heās healthy and up to date on his care. Florida adopters only.
