About Paco
Paco is a character with a unique personality, looking for a special sort of adopter. At six years old, this Chihuahua/Dachshund mix has seen enough foster homes and is overdue for a place of his ownāideally a quiet, single-person household with no children and no shared walls. Paco struggles with fear-based behaviors and is honestly terrible with strangers, so he needs someone who will let him settle in at his own pace, even if that means ignoring him for days after arrival. Push him and heāll let you know youāve crossed a boundary; rush him and you risk a set-back. But once he picks you as his person, his loyalty and affection are all-consuming. He wants to be near you, on your lap, part of every aspect of your life. Heās not keen on being picked up, avoids baths, and wonāt ever be the dog who warms up to guests. Heās at his best in a calm home, forming a deep bond with one personāand heāll alert you to every goings-on outside your house. Paco gets along well with big dogs and is tolerant of smaller ones, though he can be a bit bossy. Heāll coexist with dog-savvy cats, but will try to chase those who wonāt stand up to him, though he wonāt hurt them. Walks arenāt for him, but a fenced yard is a mustāhe loves to run and will keep you notified of every change in the wind. Heās neutered, house trained, up to date on vaccines, and is heartworm negative. Applicants must live within two hours of Florence, KY. If youāre an experienced dog person who sees the world like Paco does, he might just be your next shadow. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
