About Luka
Luka is a classic, headstrong Husky with a vocal streak and a mind of his own. He's four years old, full of opinions, and always seems to want to do the opposite of what you ask. Underneath his stubbornness, though, Luka is deeply affectionate and wants nothing more than to be by his people’s side, soaking up as much attention and petting as he can get. Commands? He may listen—eventually. He gets along with other dogs after a little adjustment time, and he especially enjoys the company of female dogs. Luka is currently carrying a few extra pounds, so a house that loves neighborhood walks or backyard play sessions is ideal. He can’t be left alone outside, though; Luka is a people-dog at heart and will try to escape if left by himself. He does well crated when home alone and doesn’t have issues being left by himself in that situation. Luka has met children at adoption events and has done well. He’s suited best to families with older kids who understand a dog’s need for space but also enjoy snuggling and playing. At his foster home, his only issues have been related to marking—typical for a male Husky in a busy foster environment, and likely to resolve with routine walks and a stable schedule. If you’re looking for a playful, loving, and slightly mischievous companion, Luka is waiting in Holly Springs, NC, for a family or individual who gets him. Your new best friend is just one click away.
