About Gumbo
Meet Gumbo, a 79-pound mix of American Bulldog and German Shorthaired Pointer with a knack for stealing the spotlight. Equal parts athletic and goofy, Gumbo walks through life with the relaxed confidence of someone who knows he’s loved. He’s already put in the work, graduating from the PAWs to Prison program and picking up more than 20 commands—he even waits for permission before chasing his toys. He’s got that endearing, sometimes-distracted energy—like a kid lost in cartoons—yet somehow always manages to switch on when it counts. Give him a toy, and he’ll hold onto it until a treat lures him away. Gumbo loves to play and, while he’s a patient soul, he’ll need reminders to stay focused when there’s fun to be had. This is a dog who thrives with structure and engagement. He does not do well with cats and, in his eyes, they’re just squeaky toys come to life. His best fit is with people ready to match his enthusiasm and quirks. Gumbo requires a meet and greet before he can join your family, so plan to visit him in person if he sounds like the missing piece you need. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
