About Poppy
Poppy is a resilient young tabby who was discovered taking shelter inside a pop machine at a local grocery store in Panora, IA. Thin, dehydrated, and wary, he was coaxed out by a caring volunteer and given the chance to heal. With good food, a warm bed, and patient care, Poppy has transformed into a healthy, clean, and trusting companion. He enjoys rubbing against legs and now happily purrs for attention; he is still warming up to being held, but he's eager for affection and looks likely to become a lap cat with time. Poppy gets along well with other gentle cats and has shown comfort around respectful, cat-friendly dogs. He would do best in a quiet home, ideally without young children, as loud environments are not his preference. Poppy will need to be kept indoors and must keep his claws—he’s tidy and won't cause trouble like his sitcom namesake. Adoption includes all standard vetting: neuter, vaccines appropriate to his age, microchip, and vet treatments. Ready to continue his journey in a home that can offer patience and care, Poppy is waiting for the right adopter. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
